Jaipur Literature Festival is described as the "Greatest Literary Show on Earth". The main motto of this festival is "to serve as a democratic platform offering access to all". The Jaipur Literature Festival brings together a diverse mix of the world's greatest writers, thinkers, humanitarians, politicians, business leaders, sports people and entertainers on one stage to champion the freedom to express and engage in thoughtful debate and dialogue. The Jaipur Literature Festival is organised yearly in The Diggi Palace Hotel. The sessions are held in the Audience Hall and gardens of the Diggi Palace in the city centre.

History Of Jaipur Literature Festival

The Jaipur Literature Festival started in 2006. It is the world's largest free literary festival. The 2006 inaugural Jaipur Literature Festival featured 18 writers. It drew a crowd of about 100 attendees, some of whom "appeared to be tourists who had simply got lost", according to the event's co-director William Dalrymple. In 2007 the festival grew in size. In 2008 the festival continued to expand with about 2,500 attendees. Just like this, the number of attendees increased with each passing year.
